Psy(x) Dialog Enhance & Remove provide effortless control of dialog information within stereo audio.  With Psy(x) Dialog, the user has the ability to selectively enhance or remove dialog from content, even after it has been compressed.

Psy(x) Level is a loudness leveling technology which uses psychoacoustic and signal processing techniques to accurately detect and regulate the perceived loudness of stereo and 5.1 sources, something not possible with traditional energy-based volume management solutions.

The S(K)Y Difference

The only 3D Audio technology in the world that can render up to 256 channels of hemispherical surround from a 2 channel source.

The S(K)Y System extracts height information from ALL content (DVD, gaming console, compressed, live streaming) and renders it to the appropriate aerial channels using predefined, editable image maps.

S(K)Y content is mixable in 2 channels and does not rely on metadata. Instead it uses real time cross-correlation to track 256 mix elements in real time

S(K)Y is also scalable so it will work with as little as 2 sound bars for easier, less invasive in-home setup.

Compression enables audio to be streamed and distributed to a wide variety of formats and playback media. However, with compression comes many problems including hearing fatigue and damage.

Our research on listening fatigue presented at AES 133 & 135 pointed at the four most glaring shortcomings of all compressed audio:

1. Spectrum sparcity (removal of information)

2. Narrowed image

3. Digital artifacts

4. Over equalization in response to codec expectation

Compressed Audio Enhancement

Using a model of the human psychoacoustic perceptual system, we apply 170+ modules to address the 4 problem areas with our 4 solutions:

  1. Kinocilic Recruitment (hair cells in the cochlea) Increased spectrum density. The kinocilia naturally group together, filling in spectrum gaps along the Organ of Corti. Benefit: Improved hearing
  1. Adaptive width recovery/management Codecs narrow image width. Age driven learned response reduces aural cortex expectation of lateral stimulus, reducing perceived width. AWR fixes the problem by widening the content just enough to plastically restore perceived width. Benefit: Larger image area reduces inter-parse masking, improves separation of mix elements
  1. The Auxiliary mask – Perceptual artifact masking in the L-R of the stereo multiplex through adaptive width synthetic aperture in L+R parse of stereo multiplex. Artifacts that become more noticeable as a result of the adaptive width recovery are effectively masked, allowing for complete control of the soundstage. Benefit: Artifact free stereo (when used with compressed source), Fuller center image, no artifacts in surrounds when used with up-mixing systems.
  1. Adaptive, derivative based equalization. Equalization that eliminates downward adaptation of the human hearing system. This adaptive equalization is applied as a function of the inverse derivative of the transient, not simply boosting or cutting frequencies which leads to natural adaptation by our hearing system. Benefit: Great for extending bass and brightness. Saves power, reduces transducer temp, saves/improves hearing.
